Germantown dental office helping kids donate Halloween candy to soldiers
GERMANTOWN - A dentist office in Germantown is trying to get kids to hand over their Halloween candy for a good cause.
Pediatric Dentist Chad Zambon is with Dental Professionals. He says they're calling it "Operation Buy Back."
"After trick-or-treating, we have kids come into our office and donate some of their candy. We put together care packages with toothbrushes and candy and send them to an organization, which then get sent overseas to soldiers," explained Zambon to Newsradio 620 WTMJ's Jodi Becker.
The kids get paid $1/pound of candy donated, up to five pounds.
"We encourage them to draw a picture, right a thank you letter, do something for the soldiers to give it a bit of a personal touch."
