Court for suspect who allegedly drove drunk, texted, killed couple in crash
FOND DU LAC - A man from Campbellsport charged with killing a couple while drunk driving and texting was set to appear in court.
The suspect, Daniel Shea, was to enter a courtroom in Fond du Lac Thursday.
He allegedly caused the crash that killed Joanna and Paul Grahl, who were from Eden.
The head-on crash happened in September on U.S. 45 in Fond du Lac County.
The couple's 13-year-old daughter Esther was also badly injured in the crash.
Investigators say his car crossed the center line of the highway when the crash happened.
Now, Esther's brother is caring for her.
"We're going to do our best to nurture her and see her achieve her goals and dreams as she gets older," said Ken Grahl.
"You just find ways to get through it through your faith, and family and friends."
Shea spent a week recovering from her injuries at Froedtert Hospital, but has returned home.
