Another tragedy for Milwaukee family
MILWAUKEE - They've been through the unthinkable.
You might remember Marcus Perkins. He lost his four-month-old son when a daycare worker left the infant in a sweltering car.
Perkins himself was shot dead at a condo complex near 77th and Heather early Sunday morning.
His dad is at a loss for words after learning the news.
"He was shot multiple times, which is a sorry situation I mean," Keith Williams says.
Marcus Perkins' dad is faced with yet another family tragedy.
"I rushed over here to find out what went on and found out it was a home invasion," Williams says.
Milwaukee Police say the 31-year-old Perkins was robbed and killed at 1 a.m. Sunday.
"He had young children, so I saw the children outside and he seemed like a really nice gentleman," friend Lynda Kreft says.
We spoke with Mercus Perkins back in 2009, when his four-month-old son Jalen Perkins died after being left in a hot van at a daycare center.
"He got past it," Williams says. "[He] got okay with it and moving on with life, started a new family,"
Williams tells TODAY'S TMJ4 his son finally seemed okay after the terrible loss.
"I was proud to see he bought the house in a nice neighborhood," Williams says. "I was proud of what he did, to raise his kids in a nice environment and this happened."
Williams says he's still waiting to get more information from Milwaukee Police on what exactly happened.
