Packers Coach McCarthy's phone goes off during 620WTMJ interview
GREEN BAY - Normally, when a news conference happens with a pro football coach, a look, a cross word or something worse can come out of that coach's mouth if a reporter's cell phone ringtone goes off.
That interruption happened during Friday's interview with Packers Coach Mike McCarthy on Newsradio 620 WTMJ's "Wisconsin's Morning News" - but from his own phone.
He was explaining the schedule players go through on a Sunday afternoon before a Sunday night game when his cell phone went off, with a ringtone audible for thousands of radio listeners.
"A lot of guys get treatment, get off their feet...whoops, sorry about that," apologized McCarthy.
When told that if a reporter's phone went off during one of his conferences, he uttered, "No doubt...I apologize. I finally got caught."
When he looked at the phone, he then said "That's a 'someone that I don't want to talk to' ring."
McCarthy was then asked who called, but did not respond.
