Feds Probe Police Scandal
Vigil for Derek Williams held in Riverwest
MILWAUKEE- A vigil was held Wednesday night for Derek Williams after he died in Milwaukee police custody last year.
Groups gathered near N. Humboldt Blvd. and E. Center St., close to where Williams was arrested last year. Some people held signs showing their support for Williams' family, and others wanted Milwaukee Police Chief Edward Flynn to resign.
Video released in September shows Williams, who was under arrest for robbery, in the back of a squad car, pleading for officers to help him, saying he couldn't breathe.
Those who gathered in the Riverwest neighborhood Wednesday night told TODAY'S TMJ4 they hope the FBI's investigation into Derek Williams' death finds justice.
