Shorewood police urge residents to lock homes after recent burglaries
SHOREWOOD - Shorewood Police report five unlocked homes have been burglarized overnight in the past 8 days.
Burglars have been taking wallets, purses, and small electronic items. The homes are located on E. Beverly, E. Jarvis, E. Shorewood, and N. Prospect. Similar type burglaries have also occurred in Milwaukee around the UWM Campus and in Whitefish Bay and Fox Point. Police urge residents to lock their doors and windows. They say unlocked homes attract crime, and when burglars find unlocked homes, they return. During some of the burglaries, residents say that they saw or heard something unusual. When this happens, call police immediately. Police say to be proactive, and not wait until the next day to report a suspicious noise or activity.
