Crews contain greenhouse fire in Menomonee Falls
MENOMONEE FALLS - Fire crews have contained a 3-alarm greenhouse fire early Friday afternoon.
The fire, at Shady Lane Greenhouse, started around noon.
Four employees were at the greenhouse when the fire stated, but no one -- including firefighters -- were hurt in the fire.
Sarah Demski was driving by the fire and tells Newsradio 620 WTMJ, "There was billowing black smoke."
Anna Ruzinski, Menomonee Falls' Police Chief, says they called We Energies to the scene after concerns of power lines being down. We Energies officials shut off gas and electricity to the greenhouse.
"Smoke was blowing over the houses," says Demski. "A lot of red flames, orange flames coming up."
Ruzinski insists that no homes in the area were jeopardized due to the fire.
There is no word yet on what started the fire.
