Nebraska investigating counterfeit game tickets for Badgers game
LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) -- The University of Nebraska-Lincoln has been investigating counterfeit tickets sold for the Lincoln football game between Nebraska and Wisconsin.
The Lincoln Journal Star says (http://bit.ly/Pu0WWf ) at least 16 fake tickets have been turned in to the Nebraska Athletic Ticket Office.
UNL Assistant Chief of Police Charlotte Evans says the buyers reported finding an ad on Craigslist, an Internet classified advertising site, that offered tickets for $200 each.
Most of the victims reported picking up the tickets on Saturday from a man in Lincoln.
Evans says the scale of the ticket counterfeiting was new to the Nebraska school, but it has happened at other universities.
