Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett easily took the race to keep his seat in City Hall.

Mayor Barrett earned the victory with nearly 80 percent of the votes over Andrew Shaw, who ran a low-profile campaign against the current mayor.

Barrett finished with 79 percent, or 64,421 votes, while challenger Andrew Shaw had 21 percent, or 16,857 votes.

Barrett took over the job in 2004 after the departure of John Norquist and successfully retained his seat in 2006 after a race against George Watts.  He served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1992-2002.
