Former parks director Sue Black thanks county board for recognizing her work
MILWAUKEE- A former top official with Milwaukee County government is speaking to the public for the first time after being unceremoniously fired last month.
Former Milwaukee County Parks Director Sue Black accepted a plaque from the Milwaukee County Board -- recognizing her accomplishments.
"That's very sweet, that mean so much," said Black. "I think everybody knows how passionate I am about this job."
Black says she's proud of everything she and her staff did for the parks system.
"It's our stewardship to say you find something and make it better than it was when you found it."
Black was never given a reason for being let go, but she's hired an attorney and says she will not take legal action against the county.
