Greendale H.S. student arrested following threat in boys' bathroom
GREENDALE- A Greendale High School student has been arrested and charged after allegedly making a threat inside one of the high school's boys' restrooms last week.
Greendale authorities said the student will not return to school until the situation is resolved. School officials said the student will face discipline for the threat -- including the possibility of expulsion.
The message was discovered around 2:35 p.m. last Thursday, and school administrators immediately contacted the Greendale Police Department and began an investigation.
"It is important to emphasize that no students at Greendale High School were in any imminent danger," said Superintendent John Tharp. "I want to thank everyone, including the Greendale High School staff and the Greendale Police Department, who immediately took action and worked together to ensure the safety of our students."
No classes were canceled following the threat, but increased security was provided during Greendale school events last weekend.
