OCONOMOWOC - More than one dozen men and women are being honored for saving the life of their coworker after a fire in July.

Sharon Phillips was killed when a fire broke out in a building on Main Street in Oconomowoc back in July.

16 firefighters helped save one of their colleagues, Lieutenant Mike Laventure, who became trapped in the building.

They're being given the Medal of Valor.

Deputy Chief Tim Meyer with the Dousman Fire District was part of that rescue, he says it comes with the territory.

"You really don't think about it, it's just something you do. The honor just kinda comes with it."

The cause of the fire is still unknown.
