High security Friday at Greendale H.S. after threat found in bathroom
GREENDALE- Greendale High School officials have increased security for Friday morning following a threat discovered in a boys' bathroom at the high school.
The school is working closely with the Greendale Police Department.
High school administrators contacted authorities after the message was reported around 2:35 p.m. Thursday.
TODAY'S TMJ4 reports that the threat made some reference to Saturday's homecoming.
"Unfortunately, even though we suspect this may be a prank, we must take the threat seriously and respond accordingly," said John Tharp, Superintendent of the Greendale Schools. "We are working closely with the Greendale Police Department and will hold those responsible accountable for their actions."
According to a press release, classes will be conducted as usual on Friday, but increased security will be in place. School officials said all events this weekend, including the high school's homecoming game on Friday and the dance on Saturday will proceed as scheduled.
