Suspect arrested for 5th OWI after crashing through guardrail in Caledonia

MILWAUKEE- A 44-year-old man from Franksville has been arrested for his 5th OWI following a crash through a guardrail in Caledonia.

A Milwaukee County Sheriff's deputy spotted the suspect traveling around 80 mph on I-94 eastbound near W. Rawson Avenue around 10:56 p.m Sunday.  The deputy activated his lights and siren, but the driver increased his speed and exited at Highway G.  Due to safety concerns, the deputy ended his pursuit of the suspect.

Caledonia police found the suspect's vehicle crashed in the front yard of a home near Highway G and Highway H.

The suspect wasn't injured in the crash.

The crash is being investigated by the Caledonia Police Department.

According to a news release, the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office will seek charges of Fleeing/Eluding an Officer, Reckless Endangering Safety, Operate While Intoxicated - 5th.
