Packers fans can win a shot at doing a Lambeau Leap
Online contest offers fans a chance to do what their favorite players do
MILWAUKEE - Packers fans who have looked on in awe as their favorite Packers players hop with ease into the stands after a score at Lambeau Field now have a chance to win a turn at a real Lambeau Leap.
The Packers are asking interested fans to sign up online between now and October 21st. After that, the process whittles down the entries and randomly selects ten people to get a trip to Lambeau and some specialized Lambeau Leap training from a current Packers receiver.
"We're going to have a classroom like session," says the team's Justin Wolfe. He adds, "It'll kind of lead them through the intricacies of a Lambeau Leap. What to do, what not to do, maybe a little bit of the history of it, kind of give 'em some pointers."
The finalists will have a chance at a practice Lambeau Leap before a winner is selected. Wolfe estimates the actual jump over the wall into the fans is about 6'6".
The winner will get to do a real Lambeau Leap during the Packers v. Lions game in Green Bay December 9th.
The jump will happen during a break in game action. The NFL limits what can happen on the field during the actual game.
The winner will also get extra prizes like a hotel stay, four VIP tickets to the game, and a personalized team jersey with their name on the back.
