Motorcyclist survives crash into watery ravine
SUPERIOR, Wis. (AP) -- A motorcyclist who drove around barricades near a washed-out road survived a crash into a water-filled ravine in Superior.
Police Chief Charles LaGesse said Thursday witnesses spotted the biker as he drove past a road closing sign shortly before 9 p.m. Wednesday.
The motorcyclist fell into a 12-foot gully caused by June floodwaters. LaGesse says he was found unresponsive in shallow water, but was revived by a police officer and EMTs.
He was taken to a Duluth, Minn., hospital where he's in serious condition.
LaGesse says the man was wearing a helmet and there was no indication suicide was involved.
