Oak Creek shooting
Son of Sikh temple shooting victim reacts to video of temple gunman
OAK CREEK- The son of a Sikh temple shooting victim told TODAY'S TMJ4 the dashcam video was difficult to watch, but said what was even more difficult was not knowing what unfolded that day.
"To watch it unfold live and to know in your head what time the 9-1-1 calls were going down, I don't know how to explain it, it was really somber," said Amardeep Kaleka -- whose father died during the temple massacre -- to TODAY'S TMJ4.
Amardeep Kaleka's father, Satwant Singh Kaleka, was inside the temple as Wade Michael Page was seen shooting Oak Creek Police Lt. Brian Murphy in the temple's parking lot on August 5.
Oak Creek Police Officer Sam Lenda fired back at Page, with his own squad car struck by bullets.
And while it's a disturbing view of what happened that day, Amardeep Kaleka said it's a lesson on film everybody needs to watch.
"I hope the public understands this wasn't just an attack on the Sikh temple, this was an attack on everybody's safety," said Kaleka. "It was an attack on all peace loving people."
Page killed six people at the Sikh temple last month before taking his own life.
