Alleged supplier to Antigo teacher charged
ANTIGO- An alleged drug supplier to a former Antigo teacher and coach is facing 50 charges.
Thirty-four-year-old John Hunter appeared in Langlade County Circuit Court via video conference Tuesday on charges of manufacturing cocaine and the marijuana chemical THC. A criminal complaint alleges Hunter was selling drugs in Wausau, Antigo and Bass Lake and also allegedly supplied Scot Peterson, a former Antigo teacher and high school football coach.
WAOW-TV reports Hunter's attorney told the court his client has been cooperative with law enforcement and that should be factored into this case.
So far, 15 people have been charged as a result of a drug investigation that prosecutors say includes teachers from Antigo and Merrill.
Langlade County Sheriff William Greening says the investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible.
