GREEN BAY - Vice President Joe Biden spoke to an energized crowd in Green Bay.
The campaign stop Sunday came just two days before the start of the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina.
"Hello Green Bay!" Biden said as he greeted supporters at the National Railroad Museum.
He didn't waste anytime trying to derail the Republicans following their convention. Just the mention of the Mitt Romney/Paul Ryan ticket drew jeers from the crowd.
"I don't need your boos we need your votes," Biden said.
The Vice President slammed the Republicans on their promises to fix the deficit and healthcare.
Another sore spot, Republican tax cuts that Biden claims will help the super rich.
"There's nothing gutsy about giving a trillion dollar tax cut to the rich," Biden said.
Green Bay is known for its working class, a hint why the campaign stop was scheduled here this Labor Day weekend.
"It shows he knows us," Biden supporter Barb Koch says. "He knows the working class and stands up for the working class."
It's those working class votes Democrats hope won't turn this swing state from blue to red in November.
Congresswoman and U.S. Senate candidate Tammy Badlwin also spoke Sunday.
Organizers say just about 1,000 people turned out to see Biden speak.
