Man dies after recovered from Lake Mendota
MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Police say a swimmer pulled from Lake Mendota Thursday has died at a Madison hospital.
The Madison Fire Department's Lake Rescue Team was called to the water near the University of Wisconsin-Madison Limnology building about 7 a.m. to help a swimmer who failed to surface.
Fire officials tell WISC-TV (http://tinyurl.com/8e5a7gt ) divers located the missing man in about 15 minutes. UW police say he was taken to University Hospital where he died.
