MUKWONAGO- A Walworth County Sheriff's deputy shot a bank robbery suspect after the person was apparently driving very fast at the deputy Friday afternoon.

TODAY'S TMJ4 reports that the deputy tried to put down spike stripes near County Road J and Marsh Road following the suspect's high speed chase with police that lasted for about 15 minutes.

The deputy shot at the suspect's oncoming vehicle several times.  The suspect was shot and has been taken to a local hospital

The Waukesha County Sheriff's office told TODAY'S TMJ4 the suspect was somehow connected to a bank robbery in Walworth County.  It is not clear if the suspect robbed the Peoples Bank in Elkhorn, or just attempted to rob it Friday afternoon.

TODAY'S TMJ4 reports the deputy who fired the shots is a five-year veteran on the force who has SWAT training.
