STURGEON BAY- Sheriff's officials in Door County say remains discovered in Lake Michigan over the weekend belong to a diver who went missing in 1999.

WLUK-TV reports that Dirk Kann's body was found by a group of divers near Whitefish Bay on Saturday in about 225 feet of water.

Kann, of Guttenberg, Iowa, was on a scuba diving exercise with friends at the location of the Lakeland shipwreck when he disappeared on Sept. 4, 1999.

The shipwreck is a popular destination for divers.
