MILWAUKEE - One person is recovering after being injured in a three-alarm fire on Milwaukee's south side.

The fire damaged an apartment complex near the corner of South 44th Street and West Howard Avenues.

Firefighters believe the man, who lives in the complex, may have started the fire by lighting a cigarette while on oxygen.  Investigators were still looking into the cause of the fire.

There were other reported minor injuries due to the fire.

The West Allis Fire Department said Monday that there was smoke and water damage to many apartments in the complex.  They estimated about $75,000 damage.
