Woman claims 5 restaurant employees sexually assaulted her near Madison
VILLAGE OF CROSS PLAINS- A woman said she was sexually assaulted by five employees inside a Madison area restaurant about two weeks ago.
The woman claims she was assaulted while waiting for her dinner.
"It was reported the victim was over approximately 9:30 p.m. (on August 3) for some takeout food that she phoned in earlier and was subsequently sexually assaulted at the establishment," said Cross Plains Police Chief Thomas Janssen.
Details in a search warrant show the victim was waiting for food, when restaurant staff at Cinco de Mayo Mexican Restaurant offered her a margarita, which she accepted and quickly started feeling foggy.
The victim told police a man who worked at the restaurant led her to a bed in a storage room where he removed her pants and underwear. She then claims as many as five employees sexually assaulted her
Cross Plains police haven't filed charges yet.
"Now it's just a matter of tying up the loose ends, completing the interviews, putting all the evidence together and seeing where the evidence takes us," said Police Chief Janssen.
The restaurant owner believes the employees will be cleared.
NBC 15 in Madison reports that three of the employees accused in this case no longer work at that restaurant.
