Flynn says recent south side shootings related to 'ongoing beef'

MILWAUKEE- Milwaukee Police Chief Edward Flynn is speaking out about a rash of violence on the city's south side.
"We have an ongoing beef that is involving a number of people from multiple organizations," said Chief Flynn at a news conference Tuesday afternoon at S. 23rd and W. Orchard streets.
There have been seven shootings, including one fatality, in last three months said Flynn.
This week, three people were injured after a shooting in front of a house. A 23-year-old man was shot in the left shoulder, a 19-year-old woman was shot in the upper right leg, and a 14-year-old girl was shot in the right knee.
"That cycle of violence has been continuing in a variety of ways. There have been shots fired in houses, shots fired at cars, cars set on fire," said Flynn.
Flynn believes the assaults will likely continue until neighbors step forward and help authorities.
"We're not getting cooperating from the victims, let alone the offenders."
On July 21, 20-year-old Michael Trevino was shot to death outside the house.
Meanwhile, police are investigating four shootings from Monday evening to early Tuesday morning.
