Pilot dies in plane crash in in Winnebago County.
TOWN OF WINNECONNE- A 68-year-old man has died after a small plane crash in Winnebago County.
The sheriff's office says it happened Monday afternoon in the Winneconne area.
Authorities say the plane crashed in a field.
WLUK-TV reports officials don't believe the single-engine plane left the ground.
The pilot was killed. His name has not been released.
No one else was aboard.
An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.
The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board have been notified.
