MILWAUKEE - "That was spectacular."

Those were the words of Gov. Scott Walker Monday morning after he joined about 30,000 other people in attending the world premiere of "Flight of Honor" at the "Field of Honor" event at Miller Park in Milwaukee over the weekend.

"What an amazing view of that stadium full of people...(his wife) Tonette and I were filled with tears and laughter all evening."

The movie details the stories of World War II veterans from Southeastern Wisconsin as they come together to visit the monument to their service in Washington, D.C., then their homecoming in Milwaukee.

The man who started Stars and Stripes Honor Flight, chairman Joe Dean, called the movie premiere "the event of a generation."

"I am feeling blessed, humbled by our veterans and our community support," said Dean on "Midday with Charlie Sykes."

The attendance for the event set a world record for a movie premiere, but Dean said that was not the biggest accomplishment of the evening.

"The record was icing on the cake, it was kind of fun, but what was the most moving was the community coming together showing love and respect for all of our veterans, particularly the veterans of our 'Greatest Generation.' "
