OAK CREEK - The Sikh community marked seven days since the Oak Creek shooting Sunday.

They washed away the bad memories with a ceremony.

"We're not upset, were not sad were not mourning, were in a position of rebirth," Kiranjeet Kaur says.

Amardeep Kaleka's father was one of the six killed last Sunday. He tells TODAY's TMJ4 while the shooter Wade Page tried to divide Oak Creek, just the opposite happened.

"Instead, the heroism of six people and the whole community brought everybody together," Kaleka says. "I think we've defeated that."

Satwant Singh Kaleka's son tells TODAY's TMJ4 his dad's wish was to have people from all over the world walk inside these temple doors.

Today, he finally got his wish.

"If i had once chance to say anything to my father, I'd say the book you chose to write, that of your life is complete," Kaleka says.

More than a thousand people turned out for the temple's Sunday ceremony.
