OAK CREEK - Hundreds gathered at Oak Creek High School for this morning's wake and visitation for the six victims of the Sikh Temple shooting last Sunday.
Security was tight.
Hundreds turned out for the wake and visitations of the six members of the Sikh Temple who were gunned down and killed. Security was very visible in addition to what's taking place behind the scenes.
"Given the weight of this incident and the tragedy that's happened, I think the full force of federal, state and local," Oak Creek Mayor Steve Scaffidi said.
Barricades were set up on streets lining the school, which was closed to traffic. Security sweeps began Thursday. Law enforcement from around the state assisted Oak Creek in handling the large numbers here to pay their respects.
"We had about 3,000 at our vigil on Tuesday night. We would expect that much or possibly more," said Mayor Scaffidi.
Several high ranking dignitaries including US Attorney General Eric Holder, Governor Scott Walker and officials from the Punjab government gathered at the wake and visitation.
