Gov. Walker's wife has appendectomy
MADISON- Gov. Scott Walker's spokesperson says his wife has had a successful appendectomy Wednesday after being taken to a hospital with stomach pains.
The Governor spent the night with her at a hospital, and she is said to be recovering well.
Walker excused himself from a vigil being held for the victims of the shooting at the Sikh temple in Oak Creek. He says he needed to leave to be with his wife, Tonette.
Walker's spokesman, Cullen Werwie, she was in the hospital earlier Tuesday but was released, then went back later in the day.
The Governor tweeted "Tonette had a successful appendectomy early this am. I spent the night with her and she is recovering well. Thx for prayers! "
