Apparent murder-suicide at Milwaukee manufacturing plant

  • MILWAUKEE- Milwaukee Police were taking Friday to investigate an apparent murder-suicide at a manufacturing plant on the city's northwest side.

    Police say a 23-year-old man shot his 58-year-old supervisor multiple times before apparently turning the gun on himself on Thursday evening.

  • Police responded to Trans-Coil International -- a company that makes electronics, including those used in filters for industrial work or companies -- near N. 86th Street and W. Bradley Road around 6 p.m. Thursday and discovered those two men with gunshot wounds.

    The supervisor was taken to a local hospital but later died from his injuries.

  • Officers recovered a handgun on the scene.

    The shooting happened during the company's second shift and the company canceled their third shift.

    Trans-Coil International's president Steven Copp called this shooting a tragedy for both families and the company.

  • An employee, Brandon Singh, wasn't there when the shooting started, but arrived to work later Thursday evening and told TODAY'S TMJ4, "My heart is beating right now, reading it was a 58-year-old guy -- I know who that is, to hear that is sad."

    Authorities were still investigating the motive.
