FRANKSVILLE - An alligator has escaped from a zoo in Racine County.

Boots the Alligator somehow got past four different fences and escaped from the Jo-Don Farms Zoo in Franksville.

According to the Racine Journal Times, the three-and-a-half foot gator escaped Friday morning, and workers have been searching for him every day.

The zoo's president tells the paper Boots probably headed for the nearby Root River.

He says there is no danger to people or pets because Boots is small, and he'll run away from people.
