New letter alleges Chief Flynn, journalist continued affair past 2009
MILWAUKEE- Milwaukee Police Chief Ed Flynn thought he put his extra-marital affair with journalist Jessica McBride behind him, but a recent letter sent to Chief Flynn's wife questions whether that affair ended in 2009.
In a single paragraph email sent by Paul Bucher -- current husband of journalist Jessica McBride and former Waukesha County District Attorney -- to Chief Flynn's wife, dated July 8, 2012, the email claims the affair continued at least another year.
Flynn spoke back in July 2009, one month after the extra-marital affair became public. In 2009, Chief Flynn apologized for having an affair with McBride.
McBride's attorney told TODAY'S TMJ4 she recently filed for divorce from Bucher and this recent email comes after Bucher realized his wife wanted out of the marriage.
Bucher refused to speak publicly about the new allegations.
He told TODAY'S TMJ4 the letter was intended for Flynn's wife, but somehow the letter ended up in the hands of the Fire and Police Commission.
Chief Flynn was asked Monday if he had a comment on this letter and said "absolutely not."
McBride's attorney did not want to comment about the specifics of the new letter either.
