Brewers fire bullpen coach
MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee Brewers have fired their bullpen coach after a 2012 season that so far has seen that part of their pitching staff collapse in failure.
Stan Kyles has been relieved of his duties, according to general manager Doug Melvin in a statement.
“It is important that we make every effort to try to improve our bullpen performance,” said Melvin. “While Stan is not solely responsible, I felt that this change was the first step and was necessary."
So far in 2012, Brewers relievers have gone 15-26 with a 4.80 ERA and the most blown saves and losses in major league baseball.
Kyle was with the Brewers organization since 2011 and has been the team's bullpen coach since 2009.
