Wisconsin PGA golfers hold charity event in Waukesha County
WALES, Wis. - Some of Wisconsin's best known pro golfers were to take to the links for charity on Monday.
Appleton's J.P. Hayes, Fox Point's Skip Kendall, Madison's Jerry Kelly and Menomonee Falls' Mark Wilson were to take part in the Heroes for Kids event at The Legend at Brandybrook.
The money raised will help wounded soldiers and programs which introduce golf to children.
The tournament started after the Greater Milwaukee Open ended its four-decade run as a PGA Tour event.
It's the only yearly chance to watch the state's best PGA golfers play together in Wisconsin.
The 2011 event raised about $200,000.
