Olympics fans gather at Three Lions Pub to watch Opening Ceremonies
SHOREWOOD- A lot of people wish they could be in London for the Olympics, but TODAY'S TMJ4's Steve Chamraz found a place in Shorewood that has the feel of jolly old England.
If sitting at home and watching the Olympics is just not enough for you -- there's Three Lions Pub.
Lynn and David Surtees look like the average Wisconsin couple, but there's something about them that just seems different. The Surtees live in Brookfield, but call Manchester, England home.
They spent Friday night at Three Lions Pub to watch the opening ceremony on TV and beam with pride.
David Price runs that bit of Britain in downtown Shorewood.
For the full experience over the next 17 days -- he suggests stopping in for a proper pint and maybe a shepherd's pie.
The English lesson -- you'll get for free.
"Things are mental...Anything that's mental means it's crazy, it's wild, it's awesome," explained Price.
No matter what you call it -- British expats like the Surtees are glad to share the Olympic experience with you.
Because while the language may not always translate -- having a good time is universal.
Why the three lions? Because there are three lions on the Royal coat of arms.
