Wauwatosa family thankful for rain over past two days
WAUWATOSA- For most people, the rain over the past two days was exactly what they've been waiting for.
Lawnmowers could be getting a good work out if this rain keeps up. The grass is looking a little better and soon may be a little longer.
Who would ever think back to back days of rain would look and sound so good?
Laura Choate has lots of reasons to celebrate rain. Her flower gardens need it, her vegetable gardens crave it and her grass loves it.
"It's green again and it's not crunching as we walk out the door," said Choate.
The Choates also have multiple rain barrels that had been empty for weeks. They've had to do a lot of watering to keep things from dying.
"We watered in the morning and the evening to make sure that things were maintained," explained Choate.
Now they are hoping mother nature can keep up with the watering
The recent rain has been a little relief for farmers. For now, southeast Wisconsin is still experiencing extreme drought conditions.
