Firefighter hurt after fire at Glendale residential facility
GLENDALE - Three people who live in a residential facility escaped a fire early Wednesday morning in Glendale.
One firefighter was injured, and was treated at the scene. That firefighter's injury was described by officials as minor.
The North Shore Fire Department said the fire happened at about 4:00 a.m. at a home-based facility on the 7400 block of North Berwyn Avenue in Glendale.
The fire damaged both the home and an attached garage, where the fire started. Officials say smoke damage throughout the home was extensive.
Authorities estimate about $90,000 in damage.
There was no initial word on the cause of the fire.
