Crew member identified after killed by dump truck in Walworth County
ELKHORN, Wis. (AP) -- A public works employee killed on the job in Walworth County has been identified.
The sheriff's department said Tuesday 66-year-old Gerald Himebauch, of Lyons, died after he was struck by a dump truck. Himebauch was part of a crew that was doing sealing work on County Highway J in the Town of Troy Monday.
Sheriff's officials say Himebauch and the truck driver who struck him were longtime employees of the county's Department of Public Works. The driver was backing up when the victim was struck. Himebauch was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Wisconsin State Patrol is assisting in the investigation.
