Memorabilia store owners across Packers nation are experiencing a heavy demand for autographed Favre memorabilia.
"It's almost like people are in town for a game, and there's no game," said Mike Worachek, who owns Packer City Antiques, right across the street from Lambeau Field.
"The phone pretty much rang the whole day," when Brett Favre announced his intention to retire. Since then, the store has had a major run on memorabilia.
"Mainly autographed items, we've sold probably seven or eight autographed items. Several footballs, mini-helmets, eight-by-ten photos," said Woracheck.
The rush was so great, "it was like we were having a home game tomorrow, that's how busy it was," states Woracheck.
Customers snapped up anything Favre autographed for a souvenir or on speculation that it will increase in value, but Worachek isn't sure.
"My guess is, some items will, if there's a shortage or if he doesn't sign certain things."
Of course, monetary value depends on how public a life Favre leads in his retirement.
"Until we find out if he's going to be signing on a regular basis, it's hard to tell."
