TWIN LAKES - Wednesday night's rain prompted Country Thunder organizers to delay opening the gates for three hours Thursday morning.  Entrances scheduled to open at 9 a.m., instead opened at noon.

"Big storms rolled through here.  Farmers are very happy we're back in town because we always bring a little rain with us," said executive producer Brian Andrews.

The rain made dirt roads through the grounds so soggy that RVs and cars could have got stuck if the gates opened as scheduled.

Country Thunder is a four day music festival and camping event in Kenosha County.

The dry ground sopped up the rain as the rural field became a supersized, four day honky-tonk.

"Last year it was raining constantly and our campsite was destroyed, so we're hoping that doesn't happen this year," said country fan Ariana Perez.

Country Thunder is sold out for the entire weekend.  Anyone without a ticket will be turned away, organizers said.

This year's headliners are Big & Rich, Jason Aldean, Dwight Yoakam, Blake Shelton and Toby Keith.
