MILWAUKEE - Farmers are not the only business owners affected by the extreme drought Southeastern Wisconsin is enduring.
It's impacting many businesses, including the floral industry.
"Too dry. It's also been very hot. It's put a lot of stress on the plants," admitted Jamie Beauchamp, the owner of Jaimer's Florals in Milwaukee's Bay View neighborhood.
"It can be stressful. For instance, I had originally planned to order Dahlias from a local grower up north. I've had to order them out of state (California) because of the drought."
Beauchamp says he'd prefer to buy flowers from Wisconsin suppliers for arrangements he creates for weddings and his other customers.
"I prefer to support local people. When I can't do that, I don't like having to go somewhere else when I can do it locally."
