With Brett Favre's retirement, Packers fans can already start to make plans for the first weekend of August, 2013, when Favre is slated to receive induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

But Packers fans can't start booking their reservations for Canton.

Why not?

Paul, "Captain Midnight", the night manager at Quality Inn in Canton, OH, says the whole town's already booked.

"At this point, it isn't looking good for a long time to come," said Paul.

Click here to listen to Newsradio 620 WTMJ's Jay Sorgi talk with Paul about the inability to get hotel reservations for Favre's probable Pro Football Hall of Fame induction.

"The (Pro Football) Hall of Fame Game and the (PGA) golf tournament at Firestone Country Club (in nearby Akron), due to those two coinciding like that for the next few years to come, you're gonna have to go 45 to 50 miles outside of our Akron/Canton area to get a room."

The National Football League and the Pro Football Hall of Fame prebook rooms years in advance, forcing people to have to make a drive on Hall of Fame day.

"Cleveland, New Philadelphia, Strongsville, Parma, below Canton, anywhere into the Southern Ohio area, maybe towards Youngstown and Austintown, west of here you'd probably have to Ashton to get a room."

And if you can get a room, don't be surprised by a little sticker shock.

"You'll have to pay a very premium price," warns Paul. "Most of the hotels are already booking at twice the weekly, daily rates."

If they're booking right now, which we discovered is not the case for most places.

In hotels as far away as Cleveland, in major cities, hotels are not booking at this point.

Some hotels we called mentioned they won't book rooms until 18 months in advance.
