Skyscraper proposed for downtown Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE - Milwaukee County Exec. Chris Abele says he'd like to boot the Downtown Transit Center from it's current site and have developers create a $120-million dollar, 44-story hotel and apartment building in its place.
"This project will be a great addition to the Milwaukee Lakefront, bringing jobs and a strong tax base for decades to come," Abele said in a statement.
Abele's vision also includes restaurants, retail and parking.
The redevelopment along the lakefront would become one of the tallest buildings in the state.
