MPS teacher fired, sentenced to one year in prison for child enticement
MILWAUKEE- An MPS teacher convicted of child enticement has been fired and will spend one year in prison.
According to the criminal complaint, 41-year-old Tammi Monty allegedly tried having sex with a 14-year-old boy, who TODAY'S TMJ4 reports was a student of hers for two years, in a south side parking lot on January 28.
That night, Monty was outside the boy's home and allegedly texted him to come in her car around 2 a.m.
Monty then drove to a parking lot, the two started kissing and had their clothes off when an officer arrived at the car.
As part of Monty's sentencing, she will have three years extended supervision, have to register as a sex offender and can never have employment or volunteer where she would work with children.
The Journal Sentinel reports that Monty had previously sent sexual text messages to that student.
According to MPS media manager Tony Tagliavia, "With the criminal case concluded, she will be terminated."
She has worked continuously with MPS since 2002. She was working at Manitoba School at 4040 W. Forest Home Ave., and taught the student in sixth and seventh grades.
