FITCHBURG- A child is dead and three adults are injured after what police are calling a domestic altercation in Fitchburg.

Lt. Chad Brecklin tells the Wisconsin State Journal that police went to the corner of Thurston Lane and Red Arrow Trail Monday afternoon after a disconnected 911 call. As they were on the way, more callers reported a child was injured.

Brecklin says the child was dead when authorities arrived.

Police also found three adults with injuries. Two were taken to hospitals with injuries that were not life-threatening. The third was arrested.

Officers were investigating an area around a green Ford Explorer with deployed air bags. Brecklin says the incident appeared to be domestic and a disturbance led to the injuries.
