Oak Creek, Waukesha fireworks shows ended early due to fires

OAK CREEK- The Oak Creek fireworks show has been called off early Wednesday night due to a grass fire.
The fireworks were shot off near East Middle School; the fire was in the 1200 block of East Ryan.
Oak Creek police don't know for sure if the fireworks caused the fire, but they are investigating.
Oak Creek Mayor Stephen Scaffidi said fire was under control around 10:25 p.m.
The Journal Sentinel reports Waukesha ended their fireworks show shortly before 10 p.m. because of fires from falling embers and sparks that landed on the grounds of Crites Field.
