Gov. Walker reappoints National Guard leader
MADISON- Gov. Scott Walker has reappointed Maj. Gen. Donald Dunbar as the Wisconsin National Guard's commander.
Former Democratic Gov. Jim Doyle appointed Dunbar to a five-year term as the state's 30th adjutant general in August 2007. Dunbar continued to serve in that capacity after Walker, a Republican, took office in January 2011.
Walker announced late Tuesday he has officially reappointed Dunbar to another five-year term.
As adjutant general, Dunbar leads the Wisconsin National Guard, oversees the state Department of Military Affairs' Emergency Management Division and chairs the Governor's Homeland Security Council.
