Fitchburg police hold 3 in shooting death of Iowa man
FITCHBURG- Fitchburg police have now arrested three suspects in the shooting death of an Iowa man in a Fitchburg apartment building.
Police booked a 21-year-old with no permanent address Friday. A 32-year-old Fitchburg man and a 21-year-old Madison man were arrested Thursday.
The Madison man is being held on a tentative charge of felony murder and armed robbery. The Fitchburg man is being held on a probation violation, while the final suspect was booked on an Illinois warrant.
Authorities say they don't anticipate any more arrests. They're not saying if drugs or gang activities were involved.
Twenty-five-year-old Samuel John Harris, of Dubuque, Iowa, died Tuesday. Police say they believe robbery was a motive and that the location was chosen due to the lack of ties to the area by those involved.
