2 possible heat-related deaths reported in Milwaukee County
MILWAUKEE- Authorities are investigating after a woman in her 60s and a 60-year-old man were found dead, possibly due to the heat.
The Milwaukee County medical examiner's office notes the woman in her 60s was found in her backyard near N. 40th and W. Orchard Ave St. last week Monday. The investigative report indicated that the woman called Milwaukee police earlier that day saying she was diabetic, lost and warm, but she declined treatment.
In the second death, the 60-year-old man was pronounced dead after registering a core temperature of 110 degrees last Thursday. He was found in a bed in his home near N. 15th St and W. Windlake Ave.
The room's temperature was around 99 degrees when authorities arrived.
